Display : PAL& This spoof of the Thunderbirds TV&puppet series was made straight after&Grove's Road Hog animation but lacks&that ones strong story-line. What we&have here is essentially a one joke&movie with the joke being just a bit&too predictable, as Bart would say.&It's all about Thunderbirds 1, 2 and 3&being called to go to a rescue. I&won't tell you any more as even from&that brief scenario you may be able to guess the outcome.& Some of the animation is good&though with the three craft all&perfectly drawn. There's one scene&showing Thunderbird 3 as it suddenly&accelerates which easily out-&Schwartz's the aerotoon anims in the&anthropomorphic aircraft wars - very&fast and fluid and beautifully animated.& I do wish the puppet looked like a&Thunderbird's puppet should though.&Where's the wooden jaws? What's here&looks like a poorly drawn human. Not&very flattering to the real puppets&considering that on a good night they&could act Olivier off the stage. (I&haven't ripped the puppet picture here&quite as well as I should have. For&some reason I've lost two shades of blue - sorry.)& A pretty good animation but not&quite funny enough. If you're taking&the mickey your aim needs to be very&accurate - this one misses the mark&due to using a too easily thought up plot. Worth a look though. ---- Animation Review: Page 1 of 3 Index Contents Animation Review: Page 2 of 3 Index Contents Animation Review: Page 3 of 3 Index Contents
